IN THE ARMY!!!

My brother Thomas is officially being sworn into the Army as I type this.

I am so completely proud of him! He took all the written tests on Tuesday and scored exceptionally well. 111. The highest job requirement I found online was 110. He had his day-long psychical today and just finished a little bit ago.

If I'm saying this right he will be an Air-Born trained Armored Vehicle Driver / Machine Gunner. From the looks of the website a to become a driver you had to have scored a 11o...So, I'm glad he chose something worthy of his high score. He always drove like a maniac....now he'll get to do it in a Humvee or some cool Tank!

He will be leaving us on the 10th and going to Ft. Benning GA for 23 weeks of boot camp and training. Jumping out of plains, shooting guns, and driving..... I know Thomas is soooo excited!

As for the rest of us....we'll be helping him move out of his duplex and moving Trisha into my parents house for now until she can move on base. Of course anyone who knows me; knows that I can't let him slip away quietly...I'm cooking up some way to throw him a Congratulations / Good Luck party.

If I get my way....Stay tuned for an invitation!

ROMANCE IS IN THE AIR

I don't know about you.....but in today's economy I find extra cash hard to find.

Luckily Brian and I stumbled on an advertisement for Valentines day that might make this holiday a little easier on the pocket book.

So fellas, if you want to take your wife or significant other out for a nice dinner.....we have found just the place.

Reservations are filling up fast so you better get a move on! I took this picture on the way home from W.T. practice yesterday. It's on Ridge Road in Griffith!

Wedding Bells.....

CONGRATULATIONS THOMAS AND TRISHA!!!!!!!!!!!

On Monday the 26th of January Thomas and Trisha were married at the Lake County Court house and had a reception later that evening at mom and dad's house.

Thomas is my younger brother for those of you who may not know. Growing up we were not very close....Older sisters can be sorta mean to younger brothers...and vise-versa. However as we grew up we became pretty close. Especially after living next door to him and Trisha for over a year. I've really missed them since I've moved this past September. We used to stay up late and long talks on the porch....

Quite a few times during those talks Thomas mentioned to me that he wanted to join the military. I remember him going back and forth weighing the positives and negatives. I always encouraged him and believed that he would be good at it...but to be sure, sure, double sure before he signs his name on the dotted line.

Well, such a time finally arose in Thomas's life. He recently made the decision to join the Army. After talking with a recruiter and talking it over with Trisha they decided it was best for them to be married before he left. They quickly went shopping for beautiful dress and a new suit and told us all on Friday. Boy were we all shocked!!! Not so much at the decision; but with the time we had to digest it all.

I'm proud of Thomas and stand fully at his side with his decision. He will make an excellent soldier and great husband. He just needs to work hard and do his best. I'm sure that he will.

The next step for him is taking a written exam and completing a day long physical. After which, the army will decided were Thomas will fit the best. These things will be taking place today and tomorrow. I can't wait for him to call and let us all know how he did!

Back to last night....it was a lot of fun. There were all kinds of friends and family gathered together.

The funniest part of the evening was when they cut the cake....if any of you know these two you can only guess what happened! Thomas swears he was going to be nice and that she started it....

You be the judge by the pictures!

I think I believe Thomas!!!! It was hysterical.
well, stay tuned to more updates!

FISHY HEAD

This is what happens when you make me go to work on my day off.......

Brian needed to get some extra work accomplished this weekend so I agreed to come and help him on my Saturday off..... Well, while bringing files up from the garage I found these awsome goggles!!!! You could barely see through them! I felt that a fishy face would do them justice.

Oh, yeah....if you havn't noticed...I had a run-in with a bottle of dye. My hair is.....red.

red as in.....red. Not brownish red.....just red. You should see it in the sun; it looks like a bowl full of cherrys.
